It is very important to find a Bible teaching Church and to become part of a church community.
DON'T BE SHY! ASK FOR HELP!
Finding a Bible-teaching church involves seeking a congregation that prioritizes scriptural authority, sound doctrine, and practical application of biblical principles. Here are concise tips to guide your search:
Define Your Priorities: Look for a church that emphasizes Jesus and the Bible, upholds biblical inerrancy, and fosters spiritual growth. Consider preferences like worship style, community size.
Research Online to locate churches near you. Check church websites for their statement of faith, sermon archives, and core values to ensure alignment with biblical teaching.
Ask for Recommendations: Seek input from trusted Christian friends, family, or mentors who attend or know of biblically grounded churches in your area.
Visit and Evaluate: Attend services at a few churches. Assess the preaching: Is it rooted in Scripture? Does it explain and apply the Bible clearly? Observe if the church emphasizes discipleship, community, and missions.
Review the church’s doctrinal statement to confirm it aligns with core Christian beliefs (e.g., the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith).
Engage with the Community: Attend a small group or meet members to gauge their commitment to Scripture and living out their faith. A Bible-teaching church should encourage accountability and spiritual maturity.
Pray for Guidance: Ask God for wisdom to discern the right church (James 1:5). Trust the Holy Spirit to lead you to a congregation where you can grow and serve.
Consider Practical Factors: Evaluate location, service times, and ministries (e.g., children’s programs, if relevant). These should support, not override, the priority of biblical teaching.
Tips for Studying:
Start with Prayer: Begin each study session by asking the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to His Word and give you wisdom, not only to understand but to apply His word in your life.
I recommend you start by reading the words of Jesus, look for the red letters in the New Testament. Continue by reading the Gospel of John (4th Book in the New Testament.) Follow by reading the Book of Ephesians. Consider reading the Psalms daily as you read, to encourage and uplift you.
Choose a relevant topic: Select topics that address your current needs and questions.
Write down what you learn: Journaling your insights will help you retain information and process your thoughts.
Ask Questions: Don't be afraid to ask questions and seek clarification when needed.
Read Aloud: Reading aloud can help with comprehension and retention.
Memorize Scripture: Memorizing key verses can provide comfort and guidance.
Be Patient: Growing in faith is a journey, so be patient with yourself and trust in God's process.
